Tracking Scripts

Google Analytics (GA4)

Overview

The GA4 tracking script provides a very low-lift way to start with Navattic integrations. Once enabled, the GA4 tracking script will allow demo activity to show up as "page view" events under the correct GA4 measurement.

The GA4 tracking script can be used to:

  • Add Page View events for link-out demos so demo engagement in Navattic can be tied to down-funnel conversion
  • Compare engagement, completion, drop-off and conversion events between multiple demos

Setup Steps

1. Locate your GA4 Measurement ID

To enable this tracking script, you'll need to find your GA4 Measurement ID. To find this, log into GA4 > visit the Settings page > open "Data Collection and Modification" > click "Data Streams". Open whichever stream you'd like to send the data to, and copy the Measurement ID.

The Measurement ID for this Stream is G-ABCDEFGHIJ

2. Add your GA4 Measurement ID to Navattic Demos

Visit your Navattic demo > select the three dots next to the Share button > Tracking scripts. Toggle on Google Analytics and paste your Measurement ID into the GA4 input field. Repeat this step for all the Navattic demos you would like to track in GA4.

Report Creation

Once tracking scripts are enabled, you will see Page Views start to appear in GA4.

To verify data is coming in as expected, navigate to the "Realtime" tab in GA4 and look for the Title of your Navattic Interactive Demo to appear in the Views by Page title and screen name report.

In this instance, we're seeing views from our demo "Account-Based Engagement" populate in GA4.

In the Engagement tab, we can see search for the title of our demo ("Account-Based Engagement" in this instance) and tie it to key GA4 metrics (conversions, session duration, etc).
