The Capture Library is a shared workspace for organizing captures into libraries and flows. Captures you store here can be used in both interactive demos and Navattic Agent demos, so you capture an app once and reuse it everywhere.
The Capture Library is the new version of Workspace captures. If your workspace is still on the legacy version, see Workspace captures.
The library replaces the separate Workspace captures page in interactive demos and the Environments page in Navattic Agents. Both sidebar entries now lead to the same place.

How the library is organized

The Capture Library is structured around libraries. Each library represents one app or product area and holds all the captures taken from it. Within a library, you organize captures into flows. A flow is an ordered group of captures that maps to one flow in a demo. Flows can be grouped into folders to keep related flows together. Captures that have not been added to any flow appear in Unfiled captures. This section acts as an inbox: new captures land here by default until you move them into a flow. Go to Manage > Captures in the sidebar. The Capture Libraries page shows a table of your libraries with counts for captures, flows, and unfiled captures. Click any library to open it. Inside you will see:
  • A left sidebar listing all flows and folders, with a search bar at the top and Unfiled captures at the bottom.
  • A main panel showing the selected flow or the unfiled captures.
Select All flows at the top of the sidebar to see every flow in the library.

Create a library

1

Open the Capture Library

Go to Manage > Captures in the sidebar.
2

Click Add library

Click the Add library button in the top-right corner.
3

Fill in the details

Enter a Library name and the App URL of the app the library covers. You can also upload an icon and choose a cursor color for Navattic Agent demos that use this library.
4

Create the library

Finish the dialog. The library appears in the table.

Edit or delete a library

Open the library and click the three-dot menu next to the library name, or use the menu in the table row.
  • Edit library details changes the name, app URL, icon, or cursor color.
  • Recapture library opens the Navattic Chrome extension so you can add fresh captures.
  • Delete library removes the library, its captures, and its flows. Demos that still link this library lose those captures.

Create a flow

Open a library, then use the menu in the sidebar header to add a New flow or a New folder. You can also choose Capture flow to record a new flow with the Navattic Chrome extension. Give the flow a name. The new flow appears in the sidebar and opens automatically.

Organize flows with folders

Add a folder from the sidebar header menu. Folders can be nested. Drag flows between folders, or use the menu on a flow to rename, move, or delete it. Deleting a flow moves its captures back to Unfiled captures. Demos that already imported the flow keep their copy.

Add captures to a flow

Open a flow and click Add capture, then choose one of these options:
  • Capture new records new captures into the flow.
  • Add unfiled captures adds captures from Unfiled captures to the end of the flow.
You can also work from the Unfiled captures view. Select one or more captures and choose Move to flow or Copy to flow. A capture lives in one flow, so moving it removes it from its current flow. Copying leaves the originals where they are. Captures within a flow appear as ordered steps. Drag steps to reorder them. To take a capture out of a flow, choose Remove from flow on the step.

Use library captures in demos

Interactive demos

When building a demo, you can start from the flows in a library instead of capturing screens from scratch.
  • To add a flow to a demo, open the flow creation menu in the demo builder and choose From library. Select a library, then pick one or more flows.
  • To make a whole library available in a demo, go to the Captures tab, open the add menu, and choose Link a library.
Linking connects the library to the demo. It does not create a copy. If you only want changes to apply to one demo, do not link a shared library to it.
Navattic Agents use libraries directly. When you create or edit a Navattic Agent, you select its library in a field that is still labeled Environment. The Capture Library is where you manage these libraries.

See where a capture is used

Open a flow and look at individual capture thumbnails. Each thumbnail shows a badge with the number of demos currently using that capture. Hover over the badge to see the demo names. The library table also shows a Used in column with the demos and agents linked to each library.

Permissions

Access to the Capture Library follows your workspace plan:
  • Workspaces on a plan that includes workspace captures can view and edit the library.
  • Workspaces with Navattic Agents enabled can access the library through the Agents product.
  • Members without edit permission for Capture Library in their role can view the library but cannot add, move, or delete captures.

FAQs

Workspace captures is now part of the Capture Library. Your existing workspace capture collections now appear as libraries. The Workspace captures sidebar entry is now Captures and leads to the Capture Library.
Navattic Agent environments are now libraries in the Capture Library. The Environments entry under Manage in Agents is now Captures and leads to the Capture Library.
Yes. Captures in the library are shared. Add the captures to a flow, create a flow from the library in an interactive demo, and select the library in a Navattic Agent. Both demos draw from the same captures.
Unfiled captures belong to a library but are not in any flow. New captures from a recapture or a fresh capture session land in Unfiled captures by default. Move them into a flow when you are ready to use them.
Yes, for demos that link the library. Any edit you save in the library is reflected in every demo that uses that capture.
